Good Morning Everyone (Or rather good evening on your side of the World),

Welcome to the our VietBlog. The weary traveler’s from Dr. Neal Newfield’s Social Work study abroad class arrived in Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon, for most people) on Wednesday evening. The trip took forever- a whole day plus a few hours, which is something to discuss in a future post.

These past few days have been incredibly fast-paced, almost too much to remember- but we will have to make sure you folks at home get the scoop on this wonderful land and the challenges it faces in the growing global community. Expect much in the coming days.

If you want to find out some more about Vietnam, Saigon, and/or human-trafficking (our subject of study) here are a list of blogs to check out:

About Vietnam or Saigon

Saigon Today, a photoblog of Saigon by Simon Kutchner.
Roby.com, written by an Australian student in Saigon.
Vietnamese God, an extensive blog about the country.

Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking Project Blog, a NYC-based project for awareness on Modern-day Slavery.
The Human Protection Project

General Information
Vietnam according to Wikipedia (please, before you hate me for using Wikipedia, this has plenty of useful facts! Don’t be a hater….)

Ho Chi Minh or Uncle Ho as the kiddos here like to call him. He is THE Founding Father of the modern Vietnamese state.
